Position

Cyprio develops and markets 3D liver and pancreas micro-tissues thanks to a breakthrough technology based on the encapsulation of a precise number of cells within a liquid-core alginate capsule. Our R&D innovation projects cover a wide range of specialties: biology, chemistry, physics, biochemistry, toxicology, pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, analytics, medical devices, regenerative and translational medicine, etc.

Cyprio is now looking for his/her future collaborator with a strong expertise in biomaterials & thermodynamics to lead and coordinate scientific projects from the design phase to completion.

This is an opportunity to use your skills in biotechnology, bioengineering and cell/material interactions at the forefront of a revolution in 3D cell modelling using a cutting-edge spheroid generation technology in a young, fast-growing and high-value company.

Profile

  • Ph.D. in biophysics or biomaterials, with knowledge of biomaterial sciences, millifluidics and thermodynamics and high versatility in technical skills
  • A previous experience with soft matters, biopolymers and/or liquid-solid phase transition will be highly appreciated
  • Knowledge of hepatic cells and/or 3D cell culture would be a plus
  • Highly motivated and proactive collaborator, with a culture of excellence and teamwork, analytical thinking, proven creativity and sharp problem-solving skills
  • As a company addressing international markets, French and English are mandatory

Expected skills

  • Essential scientific knowledge: physico-chemistry of biomaterials, thermodynamics and millifluidic
  • Appreciated knowledge: cell culture, liver cells, biochemistry, work in a sterile environment
  • Rigour and organisation, creativity, versatility, working spirit in a young and innovative company at the interface of several disciplines, being at the origin of innovative ideas and the implementation of new processes within the company
  • French and English-speaking skills for internal and external presentations on project results and advances
  • French and English writing skills for scientific project drafting and grant applications
  • Project management techniques (expression of needs, specifications, planning, etc.) and associated tools

 Main missions of the R&D engineer

  • Organize and conduct scientific and technological projects in the laboratory
  • Design, develop and implement new methodologies as part of its research
  • Identify and set-up suitable methods for the experimental realization of its scientific project
  • Produce, analyse, validate and interpret the experimental data
  • Critically analyse and check the consistency of experimental results with hypotheses
  • Identify and diagnose malfunctions and/or anomalies and propose relevant solutions to save time and costs
  • Ensure time monitoring of projects according to the predefined budget and schedule
  • Evaluate and mobilize the resources needed for the execution of research projects
  • Participate in the recruitment and supervision of interns
  • Participate in productions
  • Write activity reports in French and English

Cyprio développe et commercialise des micro-tissues de foie et de pancréas en 3D grâce à une technologie de rupture, BioPearl, basée sur l’encapsulation d’un nombre précis de cellules au sein d’une capsule d’alginate à cœur liquide. Dans le cadre du développement de son service production, Cyprio recherche un/une assistant.e de laboratoire/technicien.ne biotechnologies qui aura pour mission la réalisation de l’ensemble du procédé de fabrication des microcapsules, allant de la préparation des consommables à l’envoi des modèles 3D directement aux clients et partenaires.

Principales missions

  • Préparer et vérifier en amont les matériels et matériaux nécessaires à la mise en route d’une production (biomatériaux, solutions, milieux de culture, consommables, etc.)
  • Organiser et assurer le suivi de la production
  • Conduire les opérations de production
  • Garantir l’application des bonnes pratiques de laboratoire de niveau P2 et des normes de sécurité
  • Enregistrer et suivre les indicateurs de production
  • Réaliser les opérations de maintenance courantes sur les outils de production (démontage, nettoyage, contrôle des outillages)
  • Organiser la gestion des flux de consommables
  • Accueillir et former les nouveaux arrivants


Profil

Cyprio est à la recherche de son/sa futur.e collaborateur.trice. Titulaire d’un BTS ou d’un DUT en Bioproduction, Biologie cellulaire, ou biotechnologies, le/la technicien.ne supérieur.e possède des connaissances théoriques et pratiques approfondies en culture cellulaire ainsi qu’une connaissance des principes de fonctionnement des appareils de laboratoires standards utilisés en culture cellulaire. Il/elle devra maîtriser les outils de traitements des données (Excel, ImageJ) ainsi que les logiciels usuels de présentations écrites et orales (Word et Powerpoint). Sens de l’organisation, rigueur scientifique, esprit d’équipe ainsi qu’une attitude positive et proactive font partie intégrante des qualités que nous recherchons. La compréhension de l’anglais oral et écrit est un prérequis important dans la mesure où beaucoup de nos clients ne sont pas français. Une première expérience en prestation de service de biologie ainsi que des connaissances en matière molle, millifluidique et cytométrie en flux seraient fortement appréciées.

  • Interpréter un résultat ou un ensemble de résultats en s’appuyant sur ses connaissances techniques et sur les procédés de l’entreprise.
  • Appliquer les Bonnes Pratiques de Fabrication (BPF) et de conditionnement (BPC)
  • Être garant du respect des règles de Qualité d’Hygiène et de Sécurité (maintien des conditions d’asepsie, maîtrise des risques de contaminations croisées)
  • Connaître les fondamentaux des produits
  • Expérience préalable avec des cellules hépatiques et/ou une culture cellulaire 3D très appréciée.
  • Compréhension de l’anglais

Who is Cyprio?

Created in 2017, Cyprio is founded on ten years of research that makes Cyprio the
holder of a unique technology “BioPearl” for fabrication of cell spheroids as
predictive vivo-mimicking 3D cellular models. Our first product “HepatoPearl” has
been validated as an improved in vitro liver model for many applications, from
drug-drug interaction screening, chronic toxicity and metabolism of low clearance
compounds to disease modelling.

Cyprio is further developing new products to definitively change liver cell culture
biology approach towards more complex yet more relevant and robust, easier to
handle and HTS compatible spheroid based 3D models.

 

What we look for?

As a fast growing company, we are recruiting an outstanding Postdoctoral
Research Associate for Hepatocyte and Pancreatic cell 3D models development
and validation for drug screening and therapeutics.

The position involves working in a multidisciplinary team of experienced scientists
to outrank and replace existing 3D and traditional 2D cell culture models. Joining
means entering our highly challenging fields of interest: disease modelling, drug
discovery and development, organ regeneration and therapeutic alternatives.

 

Who we look for?

We are looking for a star cell culture biologist with a PhD in life sciences and over
3 years experience in the field of hepatology (disease modelling, toxicity,
regeneration, transplantation …). Post-doc experience is not mandatory. Expertise
in human pluripotent stem cell and pancreatic cell culture would be highly
appreciated.

Excellent publication record and strong scientific project and grant application
writing skills are highly expected.
