International Soft Matter Conference (Osaka, Sep 4-8, 2023)

Dear Colleagues,

We are happy to announce that the 7th International Soft Matter Conference will finally be taking place in Osaka on Sept. 4-8, 2023. We greatly appreciate your continued support and patience during these past few years, as we have struggled to make this event a reality in the face of all the delays forced upon us by the global pandemic.

We invite you to join us and present your work with a contributed talk or poster at the conference, which will be held on-site only.
The call for papers has just started, with a deadline for abstract submission of March 15, 2023. Please visit the conference website for further details:

Workshop SFP Navier-Stokes (Paris, 3-7 Jul 2023)

https://indico.ijclab.in2p3.fr/event/8021/page/294-mc24-bicentenaire-des-equations-de-navier-stokes

Merci d’avance,

Postdoc Frustrated self-assembly of irregular objects (LPTMS / PMMH)

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to advertise several postdoctoral openings at CNRS LPTMS lab in Orsay and at the PMMH lab (ESPCI) in Paris. We are planning on hiring dynamic young scientists interested in tackling the frustrated self-assembly of irregular objects through one or several of the following approaches:

• Elasticity theory combined with statistical mechanics
• Lattice models and the real-space renormalization group
• Experiments on 3D-printed colloids
• Experiments and data analysis on protein aggregation

The postdoc will be able to interact independently with the broad range of exciting biophysical and soft matter activities in Orsay and Paris, as well as with our international collaborators.

For primary consideration, applicants are encouraged to apply before January 15th 2023. Informal inquiries welcome.

Best regards,
Martin

Postdoc Suspension jet breakup (IUSTI, Aix-Marseille Univ)

How does a composite jet breaks?

A 12+12 month post-doc position is opened at IUSTI Aix-Marseille Univ. to tackle this fundamental question. The research will build on experiments with model viscous suspensions to decipher the role of finite size effects and capillarity:
