Postdoc variational phase-field model of fracture (McMaster University, Hamilton)

Dear colleague,

As part of my Canada Research Chair, I am hiring at least one more postdoc to work on topics related to modelling, analysis, and computational aspects of variational phase-field models of fracture. The ideal candidate would have some basic knowledge of solid mechanics, PDE, and numerical analysis but candidates with primary background in solid mechanics and materials science will also be considered.

The initial appointment will be for two years, and I am flexible on the start date, but would rather delay past the end of 2023.

Best regards,
Blaise Bourdin
