Postdoc and Ph.D. vacancies @ Machine Materials Laboratory, University of Amsterdam

Dear Colleagues,
I would like to advertise one postdoc and two Ph.D. positions in my newly formed group at the Institute of Physics of the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

The successful candidates will join an extremely stimulating interdisciplinary scientific environment, comprising the Soft Matter and Condensed Matter Theory groups, with the aim of investigating the physics of machine materials, across scales experimentally, numerically and theoretically. Subjects of interest include active and out-of-equilibrium mechanical metamaterials, architected hydrogels, active colloidal matter and nonlinear elastic networks. The focus of each candidate will be decided upon mutual accord.

Exceptional candidates with an excellent background in Physics, Chemistry, Engineering or related fields and with a strong taste for combining experimental, computational and theoretical approaches are welcome to apply. One of the Ph.D. positions will be co-supervised by Edan Lerner and Peter Schall, also from the Institute of Physics.

Application details can be found at the following links:

The review of the applications has already started and will last until the positions are filled.

Kind regards,
