In collaboration with Photon Lines (https://www.photonlines.com/), a new Live – Optical Flow Velocimetry (Live-OFV) setup has been developed, based on the Real-Time Optical Flow software developed by my team for closed-loop flow control experiments based on real-time computation of 2D velocity fields. The software EyePIV (https://eye-4you.com/eyepiv/) is now commercialised after two dedicated Cifre PhD thesis and two previous thesis (N. Gautier and E. Varon) dedicated to flow control experiments. Both the algorithm/software and acquisition chain have been optimized. It is now possible to compute in Real-Time dense velocity fields (up to 1 vector per pixel) with conventional sensor (5Mp, for instance) at high frequencies (up to 450Hz for 5Mp).

The latest developments demonstrating both the quality and live-performance of our Live-OFV setup can be found in a dedicated paper submitted to Phys. Rev. Fluids – New Experiments, Algorithms, and Theory (NEAT) and available on ArXiv (https://arxiv.org/abs/2509.25924). An original application to rare events detection can also be found on ArXiv (https://arxiv.org/abs/2509.25983), the paper being also submitted to Phys Rev Fluids.
