IUTAM symposium: « From Stokesian suspension dynamics to particulate flows in turbulence », Toulouse, August 29-September 2, 2022

Dear Colleague,

Please find in the attached document the announcement of our IUTAM symposium:
« From Stokesian suspension dynamics to particulate flows in turbulence »to be held in Toulouse, France, from August, 29th to September, 2nd – 2022.

Full information about the symposium is on: https://iutamsymposium.sciencesconf.org/

The abstract submission is now open. The format of the symposium is set to welcome ~75 participants for a single-session in-person meeting.

The Chairman of this symposium is Pr. M.R. Maxey from Brown University.
The meeting will be an opportunity to celebrate Maxey’s 70th birthday and his upcoming retirement.

We are pleased to announce the following invited lecturers:
S. Balachandar (Univ. of Florida, Dept. of Mechanical and Aerospace Eng., USA)
Physics-informed data-driven multiphase flow approaches – from micro to macroscale

George Karniadakis (Brown Univ. Dept. of Applied Math, USA)
Hidden Fluids Mechanics

Jeffrey Morris (CCNY Levich Institute – USA)
Inertial flows of suspensions

and keynote lecturers:

Mickael Bourgoin (Laboratoire de Physique, France)
Multi-way couplings in particle laden turbulent flow
Elisabeth Lemaire (Institut de Physique de Nice, France)
Rheology of non-Brownian suspensions: a contact story

Marco Ellero (Basque Center for Applied Math., Spain)
