Deformation of very viscous drops upon impact

The project started during my post-doc work in Marseille (Deformation upon impact of concentrated suspension drops), when we needed a Newtonian reference for highly concentrated suspension drops. In 2024, I made new experiments, varying several parameters and excluding some data on the basis of adimensional numbers. It resulted in an article published in Physical Review Fluids.

The following videos are examples of impact and early deformation (from inertia) at different Reynolds numbers Re=390, 10, 0.6 and 0.043. Videos are 1000 times slower than real time.
