Associate/Full Professor, Solid Mechanics, Oxford University, UK

Dear Colleague

We currently have a post available for an Associate Professor/Professor in Solid Mechanics/Materials Engineering at Oxford. The post also includes a Teaching Fellowship at Christ Church College. I would be grateful if you could bring this post to the attention of anybody who you think might be interested in the position. We are interested in receiving applications from junior academics through to academics who have fully established themselves on the international stage (at Oxford, Associate Professor is the entry level faculty position, and we essentially have two levels of appointment- Associate Professor and Professor).

The advertisement states that preference MAY be given to candidates with research interests consistent with the Rolls-Royce University Technology Centre (UTC) in Solid Mechanics. This should be viewed as a tie breaker. We are interested in receiving applications from candidates with research interests in any area of solid mechanics and materials engineering – which we interpret broadly.

We are particularly interested in receiving applications from good female candidates.

I would be happy to discuss the post with anybody that might be interested in applying.

Applications can be made through the following link:
