✏︎ [Startup Presentation] Today, we met with Kristell R. (CEO) & Morvan Gaudin (CTO), co-founders of hashtag#DeeeMines, a deeptech startup, incubated since January, developing the recycling of antimony, a 100% imported critical metal in the EU, contained in our plastics which are currently incinerated and expensive for sorting centers.

♻️ Born out of Chimie ParisTech – PSL, Deeemines lifts the lock on the recycling of WEEE plastics thanks to a selective extraction process. Their disruptive innovation transforms this toxic and costly waste for EPR sectors into a double circular resource: depolluted plastics ready for recycling and high-purity recycled strategic metals.

🧪 Their approach? Three unit operations: the first makes the antimony and brominated compounds available, while the following operate their separation from the plastic thus decontaminated. The reagents are recycled in a closed loop and the process operates at atmospheric pressure and room temperature. Antimony and brominated compounds are purified for industrial recovery and plastics are redirected into the conventional recycling cycle.

💪🏼 Their strength? To achieve their objectives without energy-consuming steps, DeeeMines’ signature is based on the use of proven technologies and a rigorous choice of simple, inexpensive and robust materials. Driven by a culture of perseverance, the team is currently developing its first prototypes in a sober and agile way, in order to test different formats at a lower cost before industrial scale.

📍 Choice of incubator: The team particularly appreciates the kindness of the support and the access to the mechanical workshop, which is essential for machining and testing their prototypes independently. For DeeeMines, PC’UP offers an invaluable sharing of experience with peers who have already experienced the industrialization of processes.

And in this period of heatwave, do as Kristell and Morvan, fervent lovers of ice cream and sorbets, do: take the time to cool off! 🍦☀️
Thank you to the whole team for their trust 🤝🏼
